3D-catFISH: A System for Automated Quantitative 3-D Compartmental & Temporal Analysis of Gene Transcription Activity
Taxonomies
Diagnostic Imaging Systems, Software
Abstract
This software processes three-dimensional, multi-spectral, confocal image stacks generated from brain imaging done via FISH (fluorescence in situ hybridization) and IEG (immediate-early gene) expression methods. With cellular resolution, these 2 methods enable identification of which neurons were active during distinct behavioral time frames. There are limitations to large-scale analysis of functional neural circuit data collected through these scanning methods because of the time-intensive nature of manual analysis. The software in this invention overcomes the limitations of manual analysis, producing a high degree of reliability, speed and accuracy of analysis of data collected. US copyright
